Inspired by Busby Berkeley’s 1933 classic movie, 42nd Street tells the story of a humble chorus girl who becomes an overnight success when she steps into the limelight on short notice to replace the injured leading lady. New York-based actress Kelly Moran is making her ABT debut portraying chorus girl Peggy Sawyer. Kelly has spent the past few years traveling by bus and by boat on the National Tour of The Producers (Usherette) and aboard Disney Cruise Lines’ The Disney Magic (Mainstage Cast: Principal). She recently appeared with the Clurman Singers in The Best of Lerner and Loewe at Carnegie Hall, featuring Kelli O’Hara, Paulo Szot and the New York Pops. Also included in the cast are New York-based actors Philip Peterson and Lindsey Clayton. Philip, who will portray theatre producer Julian Marsh, returns to the Phoenix area after passing through the Valley Troika Entertainment’s National Tour of Cats as Old Deuteronomy and the National Tour of Evita as Juan Peron. He also appeared at Broadway Palm West as Frank Butler in Annie Get Your Gun. Lindsey returns to ABT to portray one of her favorite roles, Anytime Annie. Area audiences may remember Lindsey as Hedy LaRue in ABT’s productions of How to Succeed…Business (ariZoni nomination) and The World Goes ’Round. For the past three years, she has served as the Assistant Choreographer/Dance Captain National Tour of Hairspray taking her all across the US, Canada, Japan and China and served as the associate choreographer for Hairspray at the acclaimed Charlottetown Festival in Canada. Other National Tours include: Grease (starring Frankie Avalon and Chubby Checker), Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (Dorothy Shaw) and My One and Only.

This sparkling song-and-dance extravaganza is directed by ABT Executive Producer Kiel Klaphake, fresh from his successful turn directing ABT’s first non-musical, Lend Me a Tenor, and will feature original choreography by Kurtis W. Overby, ABT’s Artistic Associate and 2010 ariZoni Winner for Best Choreography.
