One of America’s Biggest and Best Western Events is coming to Glendale’s beautifully restored Sahuaro Ranch Historic Park for three big days of Family Fun Entertainment during its 100th Anniversary Celebration. On October 15, 16 & 17th, Dr Buck, a former Hollywood Stuntman and General Manager of the World Famous Ponderosa Ranch, of Bonanza TV fame, brings his 5th Annual Wild Western Festival to the Park, transforming all 17 acres into, what the Arizona Press has called, “A Wild West Renaissance Festival”. Guests will enjoy a truly unique experience when “History meets Hollywood”, as they enjoy Action Packed Wild West Comedy Gunfight & Stunt Shows, Gun Spinning & Trick Horse Performances by World Champions, Songs of the West with Award Winning Cowboy Balladeers and Re-Live Arizona’s Old West History thru Historians like Lee Anderson or the Buffalo Soldiers. There’s something for all ages at this One-of-a-Kind Event, from meeting your favorite Classic Western TV & Movie Stars like, Don “High Chaparral” Collier, Peter “Laredo” Brown, Bill “Bad Man” Smith, Jon “Character Actor” Locke, Jeff Conners, son of “Chuck the Rifleman Conners”, Julie Ream , granddaughter of “Cactus Mack”, and Very Special Guest, Noel Neill, Superman’s original girlfriend, Lois Lane. Or how about  Rounding Up the youngsters and heading to the Big Kids Korral for Bounce Houses, a Petting Farm, Rock Wall Climbing, Face Painting and Train & Pony Rides. What really sets this Festival apart from every other Western Theme Event is the “Back in Time” atmosphere, not only created by the Historic Buildings dating back to 1886, but also by the cast of over 100 Authentically Dressed 1880’s Wild West Characters, that are Dr Buck’s “Posse” of Volunteers… we’re talking photo opportunities around every corner Pard’ner! This year’s Wild Western Festival offers guests the Biggest Round Up of Entertainment ever!… and the list reads like a who’s who of Performers. Hollywood Stuntmen, Dr Buck Montgomery & Amos Sunday join a Cast of Character Actors in Wild West Stunt Shows and WWPAS 2009 World Champion Gun Spinner, “Hotshot” Johnny Tuscadero will amaze crowds during his One Man Wild West Show. Hold onto your Ten Gallon Hats when World Champion Horse Trainer & Mounted Shooter, Gary “Bad Dog” Bennet takes his trusty steed “Blue Eyed Jack”, thru a series of Amazing Tricks.  Dueling Magicians “Mysterioso” & A.P. Green offer up different kinds of Tricks and the West Valley’s own Ballet Folklorico Esperanza will perform some tricky, yet beautiful dance moves that are sure to please audiences of all ages. No Festival would be complete without Live Music, and you’ll hear literally the “Best in the West” when Award Winning Cowboy Balladeer Tom Hiatt & his Sundown Riders, along with “Real” Cowboy Singer, Justus Harrison take the stage.    Dr Buck is proud to have not one, but two Hollywood Legends at this year’s festival for you to meet, up close & personal, America’s Favorite B-Western Sidekick “Gabby” and Mayberry’s very own “Deputy Barney Fife”. Saturday brings out the very “Best Dressed in the Wild West”, during a Costume Contest of preposterous proportions, that’s not to be missed! 100’s of Artisans & Crafters, displaying and selling an array of items will be on hand, providing guests with endless opportunities to discover the perfect gift item or personal “Rare Find” and of course plenty of Festival Foods & Treats will be available to satisfy any appetite! Major Event Sponsor, SASS, the “Single Action Shooting Society” will be giving guests the opportunity to see what it’s like to handle an Old West  “Shoot’n Iron” at their Wax Bullet Shooting Arena, or head over to the “Arizona Gunslingers” Cowboy Fast Draw  booth and see who’s faster, you or your…spouse!  A real crowd Favorite is the Chuck Wagon Camp, where you not only get a taste of Old West Cattle Drive History, but if you’re lucky, a Taste of some incredible Dutch Oven Cooking!
