Fallen Officer Travis Murphy Fitness Challenge Fundraiser

Posted on 28. May, 2010 by trish in Biggest Losers

As most well know, Phoenix suffered the loss of yet another fallen officer this week. Travis and his wife, Danielle grew up in Phoenix so many of us know this family. They have two children, a 2 year old and a 2 week old baby. Travis was tragically shot last week and his services are scheduled for this Saturday.

My team (the West Valley’s Biggest Loser Sponsors and Contestants) are working as quickly as we can to host a ‘Fitness Challenge’ at the Surprise Fitness 1, this Monday….It is Memorial Day so we believe this is the best way to spend the day.

I am sending you this email in high hopes that the IMS health foundation or someone on the medical team can do health screenings. We want to add as much value to this event as possible. Our media person has been contacted from a local news channel so we are hoping for a good turn out.

Secondly, we are urging everyone to blast their email lists and facebook/work contacts today before lunch in efforts to raise as much monies as possible!  While we would love for everyone to donate, we are URGING PEOPLE TO SHOW UP!

As the wife of a Valley officer it is so important to our families to know that the community stands behind our husbands as we kiss them good-bye every night in their bullet proof vest (Stephanie Fogelson, West Valley Biggest Loser Coach)

I worked with Travis at Wells Fargo Bank 2000-2001 He was one the most unselfish, nicest person, always willing to help anyone in the office, or outside the office. I just can’t believe it…… Travis was a true gentleman, and the epitome of public service what the phoenix police department stands for. His wife and children have my deepest sympathy.

    God Bless…
    Sincerely,
    John
