In 2003 My Big Fat Greek Restaurant opened it’s first location in Tempe and after it’s rapid success eight more locations popped up in the valley including two here in the West Valley with its newest location in Glendale’s Westgate City Center.

From the moment you step through the door you are entering an authentic Greek experience from the decor to the atmosphere.

“When you walk into My Big Fat Greek Restaurant you almost think you have traveled to Greece,” said Eleftherios Karropoulos of My Big Fat Greek Restaurant, “The walls are robust with murals depicting Greek towns and scenes, Grecian style pillars abound and the bar is a meeting place reminiscent of the Parthenon.” The Parthenon of course is the Ancient Greek temple of the Goddess Athena.

The cuisine is worthy of Athena herself as chef’s prepare customary dishes from Hummus to delicious Greek desserts.

“Our servers are knowledgeable and friendly while serving up such signature Greek dishes as Moussaka, Pastitsio, Saganaki and Baklava Cheesecake,” Karropoulos said.
Adding, “My Big Fat Greek Restaurants also have traditional American foods and salads for patrons to enjoy.”

When it comes down to how authentic the whole experience really is, Karropoulos explains that it gets pretty real.
“In addition to great service and happy faces,” he says, “our servers do Greek dances around the restaurant while our guests enjoy our famous flaming Saganaki and the familiar exclamation ‘OPA!!!’”

There are eleven locations of My Big Fat Greek Restaurants throughout the valley and extending into Tucson and Sierra Vista. The company plans to expand into Nevada, Texas, New Mexico and California. The first My Big Fat Greek Restaurant in California is now under construction and development.

Expect pure Greek tradition when you enter My Big Fat Greek Restaurant.
“Greeks are known for our hospitality,” Karropoulos said. “We are known for making guests feel extremely welcome and like a part of the family. We treat each and every guest in our restaurants with that same hospitality, whether it is the first time they have come to visit or the 100th time
